It’s not just Hyundai who are starting to push in to the luxury and performance territory currently dominated by the Germans, sister company Kia is getting in on the act too, with cars like the very convincing Kia GT we saw at the Frankfurt Motor Show this year. The Kia GT is a four-door swoopy coupe with RWD and a 3.3 litre turbo V6 kicking out 390bhp, 394lb/ft of torque and looking every bit as convincing as anything that could be considered competition.

The agreement has not yet been confirmed publicly and is still in the early phase, but brings to an end an uncomfortable round of talks in the past 48 hours which saw a spat between American negotiators and European politicians, and Fiat CEO Sergio Marchionne walking away from the table.Once sealed, the deal must first be approved by the German government, which is to provide interim funding to the new owners. The 65,000-mile California car is claimed to be “one of the most original 101-series Giulietta Sprints in existence today with all-original interior, mostly original paint, perfect gauges, factory engine-compartment components, no accidents, and straight chrome and trim.” Curiously, the engine and transmission were removed and rebuilt in 1975 but were never reinstalled.
